Spondylolisthesis
Spondylolisthesis is the slip out of the vertebral axis of the spine. The middle vertebra moves forward or backward in relation to the vertebrae above and below.  As an effect of this shift, the spinal canal begins to get narrow, with risk of compression of the spinal cord or nerve roots.

Spondylolisthesis may arise as a result of repetitive spine extension, causing the weakening of the intervertebral discs.

This condition may also arise from back trauma or a congenital failure. In some cases, spondylolisthesis may be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, in others it can cause severe pain in the back with posterior irradiation for the knees or below them.

Treatment
Treatment can be done with prescription of painkillers or anti-inflammatory, by using ice packs on the back, physiotherapy, Pilates or GPR. Depending on the intensity of the case, surgical intervention is recommended.
